West Bradenton. New community. From my visit on October 1, 2026.

New in west Bradenton: Aqua by Medallion Home, built around a private lagoon.

I spent a morning at Aqua, a new community by Medallion Home. It is not in Lakewood Ranch, and I do not usually write about places outside it. But this one is new and a little different, so I wanted to share what I saw. Medallion's model homes are open to tour.

What it is.

Aqua is a gated community in west Bradenton, near Sarasota Bay. Medallion builds both townhomes and single-family homes here. The homes are built around private courtyards, so a lot of daily life happens outside. Medallion has just opened the second phase of homesites.

The lagoon.

The whole community is set around a private 4-acre lagoon with its own sandy beach. In person, the water really is that blue. There are lounge chairs on the sand and paths along the edge. It feels like a resort, and it is right outside your door.

The models I toured.

I walked through two of the new models. The Silver Palm is two stories with a courtyard pool in the middle of the home. The main bedroom opens right onto the pool, and there is an office downstairs.

The second model has a floating staircase, a room set up as a home gym, and a covered balcony upstairs. Finishes, pools and furniture in a model are the builder's choices, so ask what comes with the home you are looking at.

Where it is.

The sales office is on El Conquistador Parkway in Bradenton. Aqua is near IMG Academy and G.T. Bray Park, and close to the water in every direction: Sarasota Bay, Cortez fishing village, Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key.

Is it right for you.

Aqua is for someone who wants new construction, a gate, and the water close by, and who likes the idea of a beach day without leaving home. If you are moving here and comparing it with Lakewood Ranch, I am glad to walk you through both. I will be honest about the trade-offs.
