West Bradenton. From my visit of September 22, 2026.
I walked three model homes at SeaFlower. Here is what stood out.
SeaFlower is the new community going up on the old flower farm in west Bradenton. I have driven past the site for two years. In September I finally went inside the models, and I filmed the whole thing so you could see it too. Here is the honest version.

Where it is, and why that matters.
SeaFlower sits south of Cortez Road and west of 75th Street. That puts the beaches of Anna Maria Island about three miles away, and the Cortez fishing village even closer. You are on the coastal side of Bradenton, not out by the interstate. For a lot of the families I work with, that is the whole point. You can be at the beach after school without planning your day around it.
The developer designed it like an old Florida beach town. Front porches. Garages tucked behind the house. Streets meant for walking and golf carts, with a 2.5-mile trail around a 19-acre lake that ties the parks and the amenity club together. A village center with groceries and restaurants is part of the plan.
The thing I did not expect: in-law suites.
This is the part I kept talking about on camera. The developer says every single-family homesite at SeaFlower is permitted to have an accessory dwelling unit. That is the formal name for a separate suite with its own kitchen and bathroom. The lot, the plan and the builder still have to line up. Two of the models I toured were built with one. I wrote more about in-law suites and who they suit.

The Cardel Palma has a suite right beside the front door, with its own private entrance. Living room, kitchenette, bedroom, bath. In the model I toured, the main house opened up under wood beams into a great room, with pocket sliders out to a screened pool, a spa and an outdoor kitchen. Finishes, the pool and the outdoor kitchen are model choices, so ask the builder what comes standard.
The Cardel Bali does it differently. In the model, you walk through a little courtyard under string lights to a separate door, then up a staircase to a full suite over the garage. Living room, kitchen, bedroom, bath, even a stacked laundry.
If you have parents moving down from up north, a college kid who came back, or you just want a guest space with real privacy, this changes what a home can do for your family. I moved my own family here from Minnesota with four boys. I understand wanting everyone close and still wanting a door that shuts.
The five builders.
Cardel, David Weekley, Issa, M/I and Pulte are all building here, and they cover a wide range. M/I has villas and townhomes for the low-maintenance crowd. Pulte and David Weekley build single-family homes in cottage and bungalow styles. Cardel builds the two models with the suites. Issa builds the custom estates.
Each builder sells on its own terms, with its own incentives and its own timeline. That is where I earn my keep. I can walk all five with you and tell you what to ask each sales office. Before we tour, I will explain our agreement, my fee and any builder contribution. Ask me for the current pricing and I will send you what each builder has published.
The models, in one line each.
The Bellmeade by David Weekley: a single story with a front office, a big island kitchen, and a primary bedroom with a painted tray ceiling that I loved.
The Palma by Cardel: the showpiece. The private suite, the beams, two living areas, the pool.
The Bali by Cardel: coastal farmhouse, herringbone tile at the entry, a covered patio, and that courtyard walk to the suite upstairs.
The amenities.
The Garden Club is the resident club on Lake Flores. A resort pool, a fitness center, gathering halls, an event lawn with an amphitheater, pickleball courts, a playground and a fire pit. It was still under construction when I visited. Ask me for the latest on when it opens.
Should you look at it?
If you want new construction, you want to be near the beach, and you like the idea of a walkable neighborhood over a gated golf community, yes. If you need a home this month, most of what is here is to-be-built or a quick move-in, so timing matters. If the in-law suite is on your list, this is one of very few places in our area where it is part of the plan from day one.
